Learning Built to Last™ Study Skills Program
Club Z!’s Learning Built to Last™ program is designed for students in grades 5–12. It focuses on study and organizational habits that students can practice with their current coursework.
The program begins with an assessment of academic strengths and areas for improvement to guide a personalized learning plan. Tutors also consider the student’s interests, current habits, and learning preferences when planning instruction.
Practical Study and Organization Skills
Study skills tutoring can help students practice:
- Organization: Keep track of assignments, materials, and deadlines.
- Time Management: Create manageable schedules for homework, studying, and activities.
- Assignment Planning: Break projects and larger tasks into smaller steps.
- Active Reading: Identify main ideas, ask questions, and summarize information.
- Note-Taking: Record important information and organize notes for review.
- Test Preparation: Plan review sessions and practice recalling and applying concepts.
- Independent Learning: Set priorities, monitor progress, and recognize when to ask for help.
Personalized Support for Different Academic Needs
Students may need study skills support when transitioning to a new grade, balancing school with extracurricular activities, or managing a growing workload. Tutoring can also help students who put off assignments or have difficulty maintaining consistent routines.
For students with ADHD or learning disabilities, contact our office to discuss individual needs and available tutor experience. Families can share teacher feedback and relevant school accommodations to help guide instruction.
Applying Study Skills to Everyday Schoolwork
The Learning Built to Last™ program includes a book, workbook, and academic planner with exercises for practicing study habits. Sessions connect these activities with the student’s assignments and goals so they can apply strategies to everyday schoolwork.
Tutors can help students review which approaches are useful and adjust routines as academic demands change.
