Understanding PSAT-Related Assessments
The PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT 10, and PSAT 8/9 help students assess academic skills and identify areas for continued learning. They also provide experience with the types of skills and digital testing used on the SAT.
Confirm with your school which assessment your student will take so tutoring can focus on the appropriate content and difficulty level.
PSAT/NMSQT and National Merit
The PSAT/NMSQT is the qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship Program. Scores from the PSAT 10 and PSAT 8/9 are not used for entry into that competition.
Families should confirm eligibility and the qualifying testing year with their school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Taking the assessment for practice does not automatically establish scholarship eligibility.
Personalized PSAT Preparation
Tutors can review previous scores, practice results, and current coursework to identify strengths and areas needing additional attention. Lessons provide explanations, guided practice, and feedback to help students understand mistakes and set manageable study priorities.
Digital PSAT Subjects We Cover

Contact our office to discuss practice materials and assessment options suited to your student’s selected test.
Using Results to Guide Future Learning
After testing, students can share their score reports with their tutor to identify learning priorities. Results can help guide subject support and future SAT preparation.
