If you find that come test time you are too apprehensive to go on, try these tips to help combat your fears:
Before the Test:
- Approach the exam with confidence.
- Make sure you studied hard and are comfortable with the material. However, don’t cram right before the test as that can raise anxiety levels.

- Allow yourself plenty of time as you prepare beforehand. Arrive a bit early to avoid rushing and feeling frantic.

- Make sure to exercise before the test, which has been known to sharpen the mind.
- Get a good night's sleep the night before the exam and steer clear of sugar and caffeine, which may aggravate anxiety levels.
- Don't go to the exam with an empty stomach--fresh fruits and vegetables are often recommended to reduce stress.
- Take a small snack with you for a long test to keep you feeling alert and nourished.
- Read the directions carefully.
- Budget your test taking time, skipping questions initially that you go blank on or unsure of.
- Don't rush or panic when students start handing in their papers. Take all of the time allotted to finish your exam.
