Fun Study Tips To Improve Learning

Memorizing textbooks, and reading passages over and over can be boring and ineffective ways to study. Finding creative ways to learn material can make all the difference in the world when it comes to making studying fun and successful. If your child is having a hard time preparing for a big test, encourage them to try these exciting and rewarding studying techniques:

Underlining: Underlining is one of the simplest and best known study tips. It’s easy to highlight the most significant parts of what you’re reading, to serve as a good reference point should you need to go back and review the information. But don’t go underline crazy: only highlight one key sentence per paragraph and a few important phrases here and there.

Flashcards: Flashcards are an effective method of learning when trying to assimilate different facts, formulas or vocabulary. This is a unique take on the traditional memorising process, and can help make studying fun!

Quizzes: Quizzes are an excellent and very effective way to review study notes in the weeks and days before an exam. They showcase where your strengths and weaknesses are, so it allows you to focus your efforts more precisely. Before any exam, be sure to include practice exams as part of your studying  routine.

Drawing: Many people find it easier to recall images rather than text, that is why drawings and images may be a great way to supplement your studies. Websites like ExamTime are geared towards helping different types of learners study effectively,  as visual learning is often overlooked in the classroom.
