Malthusian Equation
Definition
The so-called Malthusian equation is an antiquated term for the equation N(t) = N_0 e^(λ t) describing exponential growth. The constant λ is sometimes called the Malthusian parameter. The term itself refers to the influential work of Thomas Malthus in which the growth of the human population is speculated to be exponential.
