A phase curve is a plot of the solution to a set of equations of motion in a phase plane (or more generally, a phase space) as a function of time. Phase curves are sometimes also known as level curves. The motion along a phase curve is known as phase flow. When multiple phase curves corresponding to different initial conditions are plotted in the same phase plane, the result is known as a phase portrait.
