5 Must Watch Movies with Your Kids this Summer

Summer blockbusters abound in theaters between the months of May and September, and this summer will surely prove to be no exception. But if microwave popcorn and a comfy couch are more up your alley, here are 5 family-friendly movie picks that are sure to whet your summer appetite:   1. Where the Wild Things Are (2009) This is a story any young child can appreciate. Based on Maurice Sendak's famous children's book of the same name, this film chronicles the adventures of young Max, a boy who is sent to bed early without dinner and uses his imagination to create a world of fun, adventure and magical creatures!   2. The Goonies (1985) This swashbuckling pirate adventure features a group of kids chasing the promise of treasure and fortune. Of course the story wouldn't be complete without the interference of a few bad guys, but never fear, The Goonies save the day!   3. The Princess Bride (1987) This story is nothing short of epic, including a fairy tale romance, a six-fingered avenger, a giant, magic potions, and a good-old castle storming! It offers something for every member of your family to enjoy.   4. Mary Poppins (1964) This movie is chock full of magical adventure! A magic nanny comes to work for one lucky family and brings fun, adventure and mischief to their children.   5. E.T.
