Club Z! is Turning 20 this Year and We’re Celebrating in a Big Way!

You say it’s your birthday ? da da da da da ?… That’s right, we’re celebrating a MAJOR company birthday in 2015 as Club Z! In-Home Tutoring turns the big 2-0! When you consider only about half of businesses make it past year 5, and less than a third make it past year 10, you can understand why we’re so proud to reach this important milestone in our company. Club Z! has worked hard to build a reputation that is synonymous with quality, results, and high levels of customer satisfaction. But this kind of reputation isn’t built overnight. In fact, in Club Z!’s case, it’s been 20 years in the making. So after working so hard to get here, we plan on celebrating our 20th birthday in some major ways!   First, we want to recognize the fact that we didn’t get here entirely on our own. Over the past 20 years, we’ve had the support and patronage of hundreds of thousands of clients in every major market across the United States and Canada. This includes a network of students, parents, tutors, guidance counselors, teachers, and coaches just to name a few. So we couldn’t very well celebrate our big event without “sharing the love” with the same public that has supported us along the way. Beginning this month, and continuing each month through the end of 2015, we’ll be giving away a little token of our appreciation (everything from gift cards to your favorite coffee shop to Club Z! tchotchkes) to 20 lucky winners through our Facebook page (see details here). It’s just our way of saying thanks for being a part of our journey thus far.   Second, for those of you who follow our blog, you’ll be happy to learn that we’ll be publishing a special 20 Year Perspective blog series in celebration of our 20th anniversary. Each month we’ll post a special look back on the past 20 years on everything from education to lifestyle, parenting, and even pop culture. [That’s right, dust off your plaid shirts and acid-washed jeans – we’re taking you back to the decade that brought us grunge music and the World Wide Web (not to be confused with the internet).]  We’ve listed out the titles for each of our 20 Year Perspective blogs below.     With our sincerest gratitude, we thank you for your support and patronage over the years. We thank you for entrusting us to teach your sons and daughters, and to giving us the honor of celebrating their academic successes with you. We look forward to our continued success, and to at least another 20 years of doing what we love. Cheers!

No matter how you look at it, college is an expensive proposition these days. Both public and private colleges and universities have had to raise fees and tuition as costs have increased. As a result, college student debt has skyrocketed and many students end up with loan payments years, sometimes even decades, after graduation. But with some careful planning and creative thinking, there are lots of other ways to help pay for college and avoid being stuck with big loan payments after graduation. One final but important step in the college application process is to include an application for financial aid.

As parents, and grandparents for that matter, we consider it to be a bit of a rite of passage to tell our children just how easy they have it compared to what we went through at their age. File this under the “when I was your age, I had to walk 2 miles to school each day, uphill both ways” category.

For any parent of a college-bound student, SAT and ACT test scores are no doubt at the center of most dinner table discussions. While no one will argue that test scores alone are the deciding factor in college admissions, and many colleges are moving toward a test-optional admissions policy, strong scores on the SAT and or ACT can definitely help a student’s chance of gaining admission to his/her college of choice.
