Parent + Teacher + Club Z! tutor = A Winning Combination!

Club Z! has a long, proud tradition of helping students succeed where it matters most, in the classroom. We have the best tutors in the world, the most flexible programs in the industry, and of course families love seeing such great results, but by no means can we take all of the credit for the success of our students. It’s 100% a team effort. In order for students to succeed, it takes a tremendous amount of collaboration and input from ALL stakeholders, including parents, teachers, and of course Club Z! staff.   One of the cornerstones of the Club Z! model is the emphasis we place on frequent, open and honest communication between the parents, the school staff, and the Club Z! tutor. In fact, parents are invited to be a part of the student's learning plan every step of the way, from the goal setting process at the onset of tutoring, to providing input on the weekly tutoring progress reports, and even sitting in on the in-home tutoring sessions if they want. Club Z! starts by meeting face-to-face with all parents/guardians before tutoring begins. This process allows Club Z! staff to interview parents and students to find out about previous tutoring experiences, preferred learning styles, and personality of the student. This, in turn, allows us to select the perfect tutoring specialist to help the student achieve his/her academic goals. Through our Z! Tutor Match, we match tutors to students based on academic strengths, personality, teaching style and availability. This ensures that we match the right tutor to each child, every time.   In addition, Club Z! works closely with your child’s classroom teacher(s) to be sure we’re on top of what’s going on in the classroom. From understanding the quiz and test schedule, to knowing when and what homework is due and even inviting teacher input on the student’s classroom participation, all of this helps Club Z! get a better picture of what it will take for your child to succeed at school. And teachers love Club Z! because we’re not introducing a foreign curriculum that may only end up further confusing the child, and/or distracting from the day-to-day curriculum. We work right in the same text books, workbooks, planners, and homework that your child sees every day at school. That’s why our students see such fast results – often improving full grade levels (e.g. Cs to Bs) in just a couple short sessions!   And then there are of course our tutors. We LOVE our tutors! Club Z! tutors are thoroughly screened and background checked prior to hiring. Each tutor must have at least a Bachelor’s degree and relevant tutoring experience, and most are certified teachers. But we don’t stop there. Our tutors must not only demonstrate a thorough understanding of the subject(s) they wish to teach, but they must also have a love for teaching, and a passion for helping students achieve their academic goals.   So, sure, we may be biased. But we truly believe that no other tutoring company cares as much about its clients, or goes to as much trouble to ensure their satisfaction and success as Club Z! Our personal touch is evident in everything from the initial consultation with you and your child to the placement of a perfectly matched tutor. This commitment to quality and academic success truly makes The Club Z! “difference.”   To get your child started on the road to academic success and increased self-confidence, call your local Club Z! office at 800-434-2582 today. No matter how you look at it, college is an expensive proposition these days. Both public and private colleges and universities have had to raise fees and tuition as costs have increased. As a result, college student debt has skyrocketed and many students end up with loan payments years, sometimes even decades, after graduation. But with some careful planning and creative thinking, there are lots of other ways to help pay for college and avoid being stuck with big loan payments after graduation. One final but important step in the college application process is to include an application for financial aid.

As parents, and grandparents for that matter, we consider it to be a bit of a rite of passage to tell our children just how easy they have it compared to what we went through at their age. File this under the “when I was your age, I had to walk 2 miles to school each day, uphill both ways” category.

For any parent of a college-bound student, SAT and ACT test scores are no doubt at the center of most dinner table discussions. While no one will argue that test scores alone are the deciding factor in college admissions, and many colleges are moving toward a test-optional admissions policy, strong scores on the SAT and or ACT can definitely help a student’s chance of gaining admission to his/her college of choice.
