Several cylindrical equidistant projections were devised by R. Miller. Miller's projections have standard parallels of ϕ_1 = 37°30' (giving minimal overall scale distortion), ϕ_1 = 43° (giving minimal scale distortion over continents), and ϕ_1 = 50°28'.
