    Angle Standard Position

    Illustration

    Definition

An angle θ drawn on the coordinate plane is said to be in standard position if its initial side lies on the positive x-axis so that its vertex coincides with the origin and its rotation is in the counterclockwise direction. In the above image, the angle θ is in standard position due to the locations of its vertex and its initial side and because of the direction of its rotation.
