    Continuous Map

    Definition

A continuous map is a continuous function between two topological spaces. In some fields of mathematics, the term "function" is reserved for functions which are into the real or complex numbers. The word "map" is then used for more general objects. A map F:X->Y is continuous iff the preimage of any open set is open.
