    Hilbert Polynomial

    Definition

Let Γ be an algebraic curve in a projective space of dimension n, and let p be the prime ideal defining Γ, and let χ(p, m) be the number of linearly independent forms of degree m modulo p. For large m, χ(p, m) is a polynomial known as the Hilbert polynomial.
