    Asymmetric Matrix

    Definition

An asymmetric matrix is a square matrix that is not symmetric, i.e., a matrix A such that A^T !=A, where A^T denotes the transpose. An asymmetric matrix therefore satisfies a_(i j) !=a_(j i) for at least one value of i!=j. A special class of asymmetric matrix satisfying a_(i j) = - a_(j i) is known as an antisymmetric matrix.
