    Let f be a function. Then the domain of f is the set of all inputs for which f is defined.

    Let f be a function. Then the range (or image) of f is the set of all outputs (or values) of f. In other words, the range of f is the set of all f(x) for each x in the domain of f. The range of f is contained in (but not necessarily equal to) the codomain of f.
