    Isotomic Transversal

    Definition

Suppose a line L' meets sidelines B C, C A, and A B in points A', B', and C', respectively. Let A'' be the reflection of A' about the midpoint of segment B C, and construct B'' and C'' similarly. Then A'', B'', and C'' are collinear in a line known as the isotomic transversal of L'. An isotomic transversal is sometimes referred to as an isotomic conjugate (Ehrmann and van Lamoen 2004).
