    Matrix Power

    Definition

The power A^n of a matrix A for n a nonnegative integer is defined as the matrix product of n copies of A, A^n = A...A_︸_n. A matrix to the zeroth power is defined to be the identity matrix of the same dimensions, A^0 = I. The matrix inverse is commonly denoted A^(-1), which should not be interpreted to mean 1/A.
