    Scalar Multiplication

    Definition

Scalar multiplication refers to the multiplication of a vector by a constant s, producing a vector in the same (for s>0) or opposite (for s<0) direction but of different length. Scalar multiplication is indicated in the Wolfram Language by placing a scalar next to a vector (with or without an optional asterisk), s{a1, a2, ..., an}.
