The College of Charleston doesn’t appear to be very selective with a relatively high acceptance rate. The College of Charleston, also known as “SC” or “C of C” was founded in 1770. It has world-renowned faculties specializing in majors such as architecture, science, technology, business, government, and others.
The campus sits over 80 acres of land with a historic campus combined with cutting-edge facilities, programs, and other resources that attract students from around the world. There are over 10,000 undergraduates and 1,000 graduates studying at the college. Students can choose from 64 majors and 82 minors, and can also pursue certificates in four areas of specialty, including project management.
The acceptance rate for the College of Charleston stands at 79.3%, making it slightly competitive for students hoping to get in. Notable alumni from the college include Glenn McConnell, James Edwards, and Casey DeSantis.
Successful applicants maintain an average GPA of 3.9, which is relatively easy to accomplish for most students. You will need a mix of A’s with wiggle room for a few B’s, but don’t allow your grades to fall too far. Make sure to supplement your grade by taking harder classes such as AP or IB courses to impress admissions officers.

There is no minimum SAT requirement for the College of Charleston, but we found that most students scored 1166 out of 1600. This is competitive and you will need to prepare for the standardized test.
